Conventional plasma cutting is widely used today as an economical, high-speed cutting process for applications where the slight bevel edge generated by the process is acceptable. MTC software has many available standard features and optional modules that allow users of conventional plasma cutting to get the most from the process.
High density plasma cutting significantly improves cut quality compared to the conventional plasma cutting process. Edge straightness is better and there is less dross accumulation on the back-side of parts. Oxyfuel cutting is the oldest of the CNC cutting processes but is still very common due to its suitability to cutting thick plate and its relatively low initial investment. Rotary bevel cutting, although not seen in widespread use, combines the ability to add a desired angular side profile(s) to parts cut on a CNC cutting machine. Plasma and oxyfuel processes are typically used for beveling but regardless of process, MTC software has an interface allowing users to get the results they need.
Rotary pipe cutting machines offer the ability to mount pipe sections and cut profiles from the pipe wall. Using pipe diameter, wall thickness, rotary chuck “ticks per meter” and other required factors accurate profiles may be cut providing for ease of “fit-up” prior to welding. Advanced programming even makes it possible to include bevel angles for weld-preparation.
